The project concerns the construction of an integrated anaerobic digestion and composting plant for the Organic Fraction of Municipal Solid Waste (OFMSW) located in Copparo, sized for the treatment of 44,000 tons per year of organic fraction and 16,000 tons per year of green fraction. The plant was designed using the most modern technologies available in the sector, consisting of an anaerobic biodigestion section with biogas production, an upgrading section for refining the gas produced to biomethane standards, and a composting section for the treatment of residual fractions.
The biomethane obtained is intended for injection into the SNAM network, placing the intervention within the framework of national energy transition strategies and the recovery of resources deriving from the urban waste cycle. The entire design process was developed in close collaboration with leading companies in the sector for each of the treatment sections, ensuring the integration of specialist expertise and excellent technological solutions in every phase of the plant cycle, from the reception and pretreatment of incoming matrices to the production and injection of biomethane into the grid.
