Laboratorio Città di Ferrara Engineering srl was founded in 2005 from the merger of the architectural design firm of Arch. Daniele Spoletini and the engineering firm of Ing. Giovanni Bertoli.
The founding objective of this union is to offer an integrated architecture and engineering service which, through collaboration between professionals with different specializations, aspires to produce what could be defined as authentic intellectual craftsmanship.

Special Plants

BIM Modeling
For several years, L.C.F. ENGINEERING has adopted the BIM (Building Information Modeling) digital methodology as its operational standard. BIM is the integrated process of creating and managing information related to a construction, based on a three-dimensional and multidisciplinary digital model that virtualizes every component of the building, from the initial design phases throughout its entire life cycle. It is a fundamental tool for the integration of different design disciplines, particularly necessary in interventions of greater complexity. Thanks to BIM, the L.C.F. ENGINEERING team operates with greater efficiency, while the client has more precise control over the project, including energy performance and cost estimation. The team includes certified professionals in the roles of BIM Manager, CDE Manager, BIM Coordinator, and BIM Specialist for architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
Consulting Services for Public Administrations
For several years, L.C.F. ENGINEERING has been providing consulting services to Public Administrations, including: technical support to municipalities in connection with calls for proposals promoted by the European Union or other funding bodies; valuation reports and appraisals of public properties; and technical consultancy for the preparation of public tender documentation.
Integrated Design
L.C.F. ENGINEERING has a multidisciplinary team capable of developing and realizing every aspect of a project. The various professional figures collaborate from the conceptual phase, handling not only the architectural composition but also the structural, technological, and system aspects, as well as compliance with regulatory and safety constraints. The Laboratory is able to assist the client from initial conception to the complete realization of the work, performing most of the design independently and thus ensuring continuity in the development process, with positive impacts on time and costs.
Project Validation
L.C.F. ENGINEERING carries out validation activities for architectural and engineering projects in accordance with Article 42 of Legislative Decree 36/2023 (Italian Public Contracts Code) and Annex I.7, which regulate the procedures and contents of preliminary verification activities prior to project validation.
The purpose of these activities is to assess the completeness, consistency, and compliance of project documentation with current regulations, technical requirements, and project objectives, thereby contributing to risk reduction, cost control, and overall construction quality.
L.C.F. ENGINEERING operates under an ISO 9001 certified quality management system, ensuring structured procedures, traceability of controls, and continuous process improvement. In compliance with current regulations, the Laboratory is authorized to perform verification and validation activities for projects up to the thresholds established for external entities holding suitable quality certification.
Technical Support for Businesses
L.C.F. ENGINEERING provides technical support to companies for the definition of economically advantageous offers and for integrated tenders, both public and private. It offers consultancy for identifying improvements aimed at optimizing energy performance and reducing maintenance costs, while simultaneously ensuring a reduction in costs for the builder. The Laboratory also provides a construction design service aimed at optimizing the quality-price ratio before the start of work.
Works supervision and safety coordination
L.C.F. ENGINEERING carries out Safety Coordination activities during the Design phase (CSP) and the Execution phase (CSE) in accordance with Legislative Decree 81/2008, including the drafting of the Safety and Coordination Plan (PSC), analysis and management of interference risks, and monitoring the application of prevention and protection measures during the works. The activity is oriented towards protecting the health and safety of workers, the correct organization of the construction site, and verifying the operational compliance of the executing companies. The firm also carries out Works Supervision assignments, ensuring the technical, administrative, and accounting control of the work, verification of the quality of the workmanship, compliance with the schedule, and conformity of the execution with the approved project, with constant oversight over the entire construction process.
