Construction of the new LCFE headquarters

The new LCFE studio headquarters is located along one of the main arterial roads in Ferrara, a strategic position that ensures visibility and accessibility within the city’s urban fabric. The project began with the acquisition of a dilapidated building, subject to constraints regarding the pre-existing volume, which guided design choices toward a contemporary reinterpretation of the historic structure: the result is a building that stands out clearly from its surroundings, capable of asserting its own contemporary identity while maintaining a respectful dialogue with the memory of the past.

The intervention also became a prime testing ground for the application of high-end technologies and materials, with particular attention to Passivhaus design principles: high energy performance, rigorous envelope control, and environmental comfort are integrated with high-performance anti-seismic structural solutions, making the new headquarters a concrete manifesto of the studio’s design vision.
