The project was born with the objective of creating a prestigious building in a high-quality residential area within our city’s urban fabric, capable of establishing a deep and continuous dialogue with the vast garden that surrounds it.
The intervention involved the definitive and executive design of the new prefabricated volume, built to replace the previous demolished structure, conceived from the earliest stages as an integral part of the green landscape that hosts it.
The planivolumetric configuration supports this vision through large openings and horizontal overhangs that frame perspective views of the garden and make it an integral part of the living spaces: emblematic in this sense is the corner window on a cruciform pillar, seven meters long on the south elevation and five on the west elevation, which dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior, transforming the living room into an extension of the landscape. The outdoor spaces were also the subject of a careful and unified design, with the creation of a pergola and a swimming pool that complete the relationship between architecture and garden, defining outdoor living environments of a quality analogous to that of the interiors.
The choice of materials reinforces this coherence: the external cladding in exposed cork gives the building a living presence that changes over time, in harmony with the natural character of the context. The external paving was resolved with a draining system that preserves soil permeability, while inside, the continuity of the rooms is entrusted to a resin floor that extends without interruption from the outside to the inside.
Finishes and furnishings were designed to ensure maximum comfort and elegance, in line with the prestigious character of the intervention. On the energy front, the building is designed to achieve self-sufficiency: the accurate resolution of thermal bridges and the use of thermal break windows minimize heat loss, while rooftop photovoltaic panels and a geothermal heat pump power an integrated system consisting of radiant underfloor heating, an air system, and controlled mechanical ventilation, ensuring high thermo-hygrometric performance in all seasonal conditions.
