The L.C.F. Engineering design firm is currently engaged in the detailed and construction design of 14 plants for the production of biomethane from agricultural and livestock matrices located at various sites in the Lazio, Campania, Puglia, and Molise regions.
Each plant is designed for the anaerobic digestion of agricultural and livestock by-products, with the combined production of biomethane, thermal energy, and electricity from renewable sources. The projects involve production capacities of up to 500 Smc/h of biomethane, intended for injection into the national gas grid for transport use, with a direct positive impact on the reduction of CO₂ emissions. The process integrates advanced membrane biogas upgrading technologies, CO₂ liquefaction, and digestate treatment for the production of high-quality organic soil conditioners. The adopted design solutions ensure maximum feeding flexibility, managing liquid and solid matrices of various types, from livestock manure to olive pomace, and from agro-industrial by-products to dedicated crops.
Each plant is equipped with automated SCADA supervision systems, remote control, and integrated management of all process sections. Particular attention is dedicated to the environmental sustainability of the production cycle, featuring nitrogen stripping systems, liquid digestate evaporation, and integrated photovoltaic systems of up to 1 MW for self-consumption.
In the context of designing these plants, our company utilizes the collaboration of IFLY srl, a cutting-edge company for the remote monitoring of construction.
